Nov 12: Join this virtual panel to learn how further media consolidation will obstruct free speech
Jane Fonda’s reborn Committee on The First Amendment is thrilled to invite you to our next virtual meeting on Wednesday, November 12, 6:00pm PT / 9:00pm ET.
We have fielded many questions from Committee members about the consolidation of our industry and how forthcoming mergers could contribute to the obstruction of free expression. We heard you and want to provide the most robust answers we can — so we’re bringing in the leading experts in this space to help us better understand the current landscape.
We’ll welcome FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez, who has spoken out against attacks on the first amendment, and Jessica Gonzalez, CO-CEO of Free Press, a nonpartisan advocacy organization that works to strengthen democracy by promoting diverse and independent media. They will join Jane Fonda for a conversation about the current merger landscape reshaping the entertainment industry—including its implications for free expression—and existing opportunities to defend free speech, support efforts to combat media consolidation, and activate Committee members in this work.
We hope you’ll join. Please register here.

They are also running a fundraiser and philanthropy program called Give Miami Day. It will run from November 16 - 20. See here. Give Jen Orta Castellanos an early birthday present and donate $40, if you can! She’s on a quest to get $40 from 40 people for her 40th birthday! (Happy early birthday, Jen!) “[T]he Miami Foundation will be donating $25 for each of those 40 donors, that is an extra $1000 if I reach my goal!” Good luck, Jen!

Thanks for the shoutout Ted! I believe we’ve hit the limit for the current session—FilmStack Roundtable #1 is officially full. The virtual table only holds a dirty dozen NonDērs at a time. We want to give everyone a chance to engage.
That said, I’ve just opened FilmStack Roundtable #2, happening next Sunday, Nov 16th. If you’re interested in joining the next discussion on Verticals and Micro Films, follow the link below and claim your seat at the virtual table.
Looking forward to diving in with you all: https://forms.gle/GtMz8dNYvWi4KCiM6
