You Can Ditch that FilmBiz Translator App
The Entertainment Strategy Guy just did us all a solid. For 125 years our industry has been creating its own vernacular, just to keep all the newbies out. And although ESG included “NonDē”, he missed “FilmStack”, dang it. Still that’s one better than the Oxford English Dictionary.
This one may also be the longest ‘stack post ever!

Has one movie ever generated as much great writing as OBAA?
Seriously. I may disagree with some, have my eyes opened by others, and feel aligned with many, but I don’t know if it is just the phenomenon of FilmStack or what, but holy cow, are we awash in wonder, or what?
And yeah, the other day we shared Sophie’s overview of PTA…
The guy is sort of incredible.
And it is a shame Indiewire doesn’t just make the jump to Substack…
and others too, as this one is quite inspiring, and really gets some of the delight (and perhaps… point):

further demystifies the realm of nonprofit funding, be it fiscal sponsors or DAFs or 501c3’s. It’s a quick read, so don’t hold back. Dive right in before your day begins. You might as start out a wee bit more knowledgeable, right?
